According to the Surgeon General’s Report on Physical Activity and Health, 30 minutes per day of physical activity, such as walking, may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, colon cancer, and Type 2 diabetes and improve mental health.

A walking log PDF icon is a terrific tool to stay motivated and not only track everyday progress, but week-to-week progress.  It is useful for monitoring goals because it keeps the user more accurate, aware, and accountable.  It is best to keep the log handy, so it can be completed as soon as the walk is finished and then reflected upon at week’s end.
