  • Acquire techniques for dealing with emotions and difficult dynamics.
  • Understand the source of conflict from multiple perspectives.
  • Develop strategies to move from confrontation to collaboration.
  • Enhance their negotiation style and skills.
  • Learn how to resolve disputes before they escalate to litigation.

The Dynamics of Facilitating IEP Meetings

  • Prepare for an IEP meeting.
  • Design a collaborative meeting agenda.
  • Facilitate a meeting process that encourages full participation and effective communication.
  • Build agreement and gain consensus.
  • Manage challenging meeting dynamics.

It will provide a framework that builds upon a mediator’s prior knowledge and experiences while infusing the unique characteristics associated with aging and special needs.
